WHAT THEY'RE FOR: Storage, workshops, garages.
COMMON SIZES: 6m x 6m to 12m x 9m
FEATURES: Single or double roller doors, walk-in access, windows optional.
RURAL SHEDS
WHAT THEY'RE FOR: Machinery storage, hay sheds, livestock shelter.
COMMON SIZES: 12m x 9m to 20m x 12m+
FEATURES: High clearance, large door openings, heavy-duty framing.
COMMERCIAL SHEDS
WHAT THEY'RE FOR: Warehouses, factories, retail spaces.
COMMON SIZES: 15m x 12m to 30m x 20m+
FEATURES: Office fitouts, mezzanines, insulation, multiple access points.
CARPORTS & LEAN-TOS
WHAT THEY'RE FOR: Vehicle cover, attached storage.
COMMON SIZES: 6m x 3m to 9m x 6m
FEATURES: Open sides or partially enclosed, attached to existing structure.
How to Measure Your Shed
SHED SPAN
WHAT IS IT: The span of your shed from side to side.
HOW TO MEASURE: The distance across the front of the shed.
SHED LENGTH
WHAT IS IT: How deep the shed goes from front to back.
HOW TO MEASURE: The distance from the front roller door to the back wall.
SHED HEIGHT
WHAT IS IT: How tall your shed is (usually measured at the peak)
STANDARD HEIGHTS: 2.4m, 3m, 3.6m, 4.2m
WHY IT MATTERS: Clearance for vehicles, machinery or mezzanine storage.
SKILLION ROOF VS GABLE
SKILLION: Single-slope roof (one side higher). Modern look, cost-effective, great water runoff.
GABLE: Traditional triangle roof (two slopes meeting at peak). More headroom, classic appearance.
